The Strathcona County RCMP had their hands full on Tuesday (Dec.12).
Police were first called at around 2:00 a.m. to the industrial area of Sherwood Park.
Once the RCMP Emergency Response Team arrived, 18 Street to 24 Street on 84 Avenue were closed off.
A male reportedly pointed a firearm at a female. She left immediately and notified police.
With reason to believe the man was still inside the business with another woman, officers kept the area blocked off for several hours.
At about 10:00 a.m., a second woman was released and the armed man was arrested without incident two hours later.
Both women involved were not injured in the standoff.
The incident remains under investigation.
