Police have identified the body found on a rural property in Strathcona County as 25-year-old Gursumeet Singh Brar.
The Sherwood Park resident was found on Thursday (Nov.29) around 8:34 a.m. near Highway 14 and Range Road 231.
An autopsy on Friday determined the cause of death to be a homicide.
The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the RCMP Forensic Identification Section and Strathcona County General Investigations Section.
RCMP said in a release there’s is no risk to public safety.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Strathcona County RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
