After a lengthy investigation, Redwater and Tofield RCMP have slapped over 30 charges on two men.
In April of 2016, Redwater RCMP responded to an armed robbery by two masked men. One of them pulled out what was thought to be a gun and robbed an ATB branch in the hamlet of Radway.
The two took off with an unknown amount of money in a stolen truck. The truck was later found engulfed in flames.
Then, in May of last year, Tofield RCMP responded to a similar robbery at another ATB in Holden. Two suspects fled in a stolen SUV that was found later.
27 year-old Kevin Loughran of Drayton Valley was arrested back in July of 2017 and is facing seven charges.
39 year-old Jason Gallie of Edmonton was arrested by Edmonton Police Service on Dec.22. Gallie faces 28 charges, including robbery with a firearm, arson, disguise with intent, pointing a firearm and possession of stolen property over $5,000.
“This investigation was extensive,” said Constable Robin Theberge of the Edmonton General Investigative Section. “The collaboration of detachments and intelligence sharing has now brought these crimes before the courts and we are thankful no one was harmed during these incidents.”
Gallie's first court date is in January, Loughran will have to wait until February.
