Fire crews have their hands full with the warm, dry weather.

The Fort Saskatchewan Fire Department responded to a fire in Turner Park around 12:15 p.m. on Monday (May 14). The fire was in the eastern section of the park, just off of the trail in a treed area.

Crews had the blaze under control by 1:30 p.m. using a brush truck.

No cause has been determined, the fire is under investigation.

“We need everyone to comply with the fire advisory that is in place,” said Fort Saskatchewan deputy fire chief Paul Prevost.

The advisory only allows for recreational fires in covered fire pits, approved fire pits within recognized campgrounds/parks and propane/natural gas appliances.

No other fires are permitted until further notice.
