A Strathcona County mother is encouraging support for Miracle Treat Day.
Proceeds from every Blizzard Treat sold at the Fort Saskatchewan Dairy Queen locations on August 10 will be donated to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, one of 14 Children’s Miracle Network member hospitals across Canada.
Brijanne Finlay's son Gage was born with a broken arm, and just three short weeks later was rushed in for emergency surgery on his stomach. She can't thank the staff enough for how she was treated through both ordeals.
"The Stollery was nothing but hands down phenomenal, we were scared and alone and unsure of everything. Every step of the way, the nurses made us feel like gold, calming me down because I was of course a wreck," said Finlay.

Every day, 4,900 children enter one of the Children's Miracle Network member hospitals across the nation for treatment.
