If you're traveling, a winter storm could affect road conditions.
The province has issued a travel advisory for most of central and northwest Alberta including the Fort, Strathcona County, Bruderheim, Morinville, Edmonton and surrounding areas
A storm could hit our area overnight on Thursday (Mar.22) and into Friday morning. Some places will get 10-15 cm of snow with the wind gusting up to 70km/h.
Environment Canada has also issued a snowfall warning.
Tips before hitting the road include:
- Check Alberta 511.
- Consider postponing unnecessary travel.
- Slow down in winter conditions.
- Expect reduced visibility.
- Have winter or all-weather tires on your vehicle.
- Have an emergency kit in your vehicle.
- Give snowplows room to work by staying back at least 10 metres.
