After an extensive search, the Town of Morinville has their new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
Stephane Labonne steps into the new position after serving as the CAO in Hinton.
"Andy's (Isbister) leaving the organization in a very good place financially; and in terms of leadership, he's leaving the organization in a very good state," said Labonne. "For me coming into a position like this, I'm very fortunate to have the leadership that's put in place and a council that's willing to roll their sleeves up and get to work."
Labonne has almost 22 years of local government experience, including spending time as the general manager with Sturgeon County.
He has overseen land-use planning, engineering projects, economic development and intergovernmental affairs.
"I know a lot of lines of business, disciplines and local government, so being able to bring the experience and the skills that I have and help the organization continue to move forward really excites me," added Labonne.
Labonne's first council meeting with the town was on Tuesday (Mar.27).
