The unofficial byelection results are in.
Returning to a familiar position, Wayne Olechow will fill the vacant councillor position in Bruderheim.
"It was a great feeling to know that even though I stepped away for a short period, that the residents still had trust and believed in me," said Olechow.
The voting totals were not provided by Bruderheim at the time of publish. However, the town confirmed he had won.
"I think I've proven in my last seven years of council my openness and honesty. If residents have questions and concerns, I will bring them forward, see them through and follow up with the resident," added Olechow.
When he's not sitting on council, Olechow is an educational assistant with Elk Island Public Schools.
Bruderheim's next town council meeting is Aug.15 at 7:00 p.m.
