Strathcona County has been selected to host the 2021 Special Olympics Alberta Summer Games.
Over 1,300 athletes will compete in 10 different sports including: swimming, track and field, bocce, soccer, basketball, golf, powerlifting, 10-pin bowling, rhythmic gymnastics and softball.
“Strathcona County is proud to be chosen as the host,” said mayor Roxanne Carr.
The mission of Special Olympics Alberta is to enrich the lives of Albertans with intellectual disabilities through sport.
The games highlight athletes of all abilities.
