Extremely cold temperatures have cancelled most of Strathcona County's New Year’s Eve Festival outdoor activities.
 
Wagon rides and fireworks will go ahead as planned.
 
Indoor activities are as follows:
- Shinny hockey and public skating at the Sherwood Park Arena and Sports Centre
- Sherwood Park Figure Skating Club will perform in the Sherwood Park Arena at 7 p.m.
- A special Canada 150 performances by children’s entertainer Team T&J
- The inflatables will be in the Community Centre
- Super hero activities will take place in Festival Place and the Strathcona County Community Center
 
The festival runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Broadmoor Lake Park Arena and Sports Centre. Fireworks will wrap up the night at 8 p.m. and will be larger than last year.
 
Non-perisable food donations are encouraged for the Strathcona County Food Bank. Road closures will be in effect from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Festival Avenue, Festival Way and Festival Lane roads.
