Strathcona County has earned another national award.
The county’s third consecutive Canadian Award for Financial Reporting Achievement was for their 2016 Annual Report: “LEADING. LIVABLE. A new lens to guide us forward.”
"We're just very proud to maintain the standard we've achieved," said Andrew Hayes Strathcona County’s manager of financial reporting.
The award recognizes excellence in accounting and reporting, displaying transparency and full disclosure for residents.
"Having this award three years in a row just tells me we're accomplishing what we're setting out to do an getting better and better every year," said Laura Probst director of corporate finance.
The award was established in 1986 to encourage governments to tell the municipality’s financial story in a clear and interesting way.
