The Strathcona County Library is all moved into their new temporary home.

A pop-up library was set up on Baseline Road and officially opened on Monday (Dec.10).

"We are so excited to see so many of our patrons come out," said Strathcona County Library CEO Sharon Siga.

The permanent library in the community centre has been out of commission since November 6, after multiple explosions went off in the parkade.

Hundreds of visitors stopped by just hours into being open. Siga estimates they had around 30,000 books and items dropped off at the original pop-up location, the Broadmoor Golf Course.

"I think it shows that libraries really are about people and one of the things people form a community around are books," added Siga.

The new location now has room for library programming, extra space for returns and computers for users.
