The holiday spirit is alive and well in Fort Saskatchewan, with the food bank recieving more than $3,000.
On Friday (December 15), Straightline Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram donated $3,640 to the Fort Saskatchewan Food Gatherer’s Society.
“Anytime we can help out with the community we want to get involved, so we jumped in. We did a dealership donation and we challenged all our staff to match everything we donated,” said Chris Tonkin, owner of Straightline Chrysler.
Food bank president Marlene LeRoux was at Straightline Chrysler to accept the cheque.
“Every little bit helps. This time of year our hampers are up just over 200, so any money collected on our behalf is wonderful and Straightline has gone above and beyond,” said LeRoux.
The food bank will use the money to make necessary food purchases.
