With heat waves on the way this summer, it’s better to plan ahead.

Fort Saskatchewan Custom Blinds by Design owner Brenda Blais revealed that there is one type of blind system that will keep your house a lot cooler during summer months.

“Our Duette Architella Honeycomb blinds are the highest energy efficient blind on the market. They reduce up to 70 – 80 per cent of the heat loss in the wintertime and in the summer time they’re going to keep your air conditioning from running 24/7 because they’re blocking so much of that direct sunlight,” said Blais.

Blais claims the proper blind system can cut the average bill for air conditioning in half and still allow light to come through.

A 2012 stat from the Government of Canada hinted that over the next 30 years, the number of extremely hot days is estimated to more than double in some areas annually.
