Construction crews are coming closer to completing the new boulevard on Southfort Drive.
Northbound traffic will be moved to the new lanes to allow the median to be completed at Allard Way.
"They paved, last week, the final lift of asphalt," explained Joey Farebrother, engineering coordinator with the City of Fort Saskatchewan. "Next week is scheduled for line painting and signage and then we can start to look at opening the other two lanes."
The sidewalk to the Dow Centennial Centre is completed and medians have been filled with soil. Sod and trees will be planted in the spring.
Bases for traffic lights are installed and poles should be up in early November as the project prepares to open to traffic by mid-November.
Despite weather challenges, Farebrother confirmed the project is on time and on budget.
