A Sherwood Park mother and daughter won $100,000 on a Scratch N' Win ticket.
Stephanie and Donna Marie Burkart frequently play the lottery together.
Donna Marie was the one to scratch the ticket, which she believed had won them $100. Upon seeing the ticket, Stephanie agreed they had indeed won the much lower prize.
"Donna (Marie) went to the store and was really kind of shocked when that wasn't the case," said Megan Petricig, communications officer with Western Canada Lottery Corporation.
The two live together currently, but Stephanie is planning to put her share of the money towards a down payment on a house. Donna Marie plans to use the money to help out her other three children.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Reddi Mart on Lakeland Village Boulevard in Sherwood Park.
