A Sherwood Park man has been arrested and charged after trying to flee from police.
 
On Wednesday (September 27), around 4:40 p.m., the Lloydminster RCMP tried to stop a vehicle, the vehicle fled from police and was involved in a collision with another vehicle.
 
Two suspects fled from the scene, Steven Vu, 30, was arrested by police after a short foot pursuit.
 
While armed with a firearm the second suspect, Cameron Green, 29, attempted to force his way into an occupied vehicle.
 
Responding police officers shot Green, he was transferred to an Edmonton hospital with life threating injuries. Green remains in serious condition.
 
Vu, from Sherwood Park, has been charged with possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and obstruction. He was released after a judicial hearing with conditions and is set to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on October 16.
 
Green is from Calgary and has been charged with robbery with a firearm, pointing a firearm, assault on a police officer, assault with a weapon, possession of stolen property, possession with dangerous purpose, possessing a firearm without license, possession of a firearm while prohibited, flight from police and dangerous driving
 
A court date for Green has not been set.
 
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) currently is investigating the police involved shooting.
