A traffic stop in Strathcona County has ended in two arrests.

The Capital East Integrated Traffic Unit (ITU) arrested two men and seized $80,000 worth of drugs on Friday (Nov. 24).

The two were stopped on Highway 16 near Range Road 224. After a roadside investigation and search, police found 8,000 tablets of Ratio-Oxycocoet.

24-year-old Peter Micicu of Sherwood Park has been charged one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of failure to comply with probation.

31-year-old Tyler Moore of Edmonton has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

“While this seizure has a high street value of approximately $80,000 the greater benefit is in removing these pills from the wrong hands” said Don Murray, Staff Sergeant of the Capital East ITU. “This amount of Oxycodone could be deadly if improperly administered.”

Both men were released on bail and are scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park Provincial Court on December 6.
