A collision with a semi truck has left a man seriously injured.
 
At 6:35 p.m. Wednesday (Feb.21), the Strathcona County RCMP responded to a crash on Highway 14, between Range Road 222 and Range Road 221, near the South Cooking Lake turnoff.
 
"A semi truck pulling a wide load was travelling westbound on highway 14 and a small car driven by an elderly male was travelling eastbound," said Cpl. Laurel Scott, media officer with the Alberta RCMP. "The two collided and the elderly male was transported to hospital."
 
Strathcona County municipal traffic services are investigating the accident.
 
Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be involved.
 
The road was closed but has since been reopened.
