Lamont County has a new safety code permit provider.

As of December 31, 2017, their contract with The Inspections Group as safety code permit provider expired.

They signed a contract to ring in the new year with Superior Safety Codes Inc.

"With The Inspections Group, the county got 25 per cent of the fees and with Superior, we get 40 per cent so that was a big cost savings and explains why Superior won the bid," said Heather Atkinson with Lamont County.

Residents who already have a safety code permit from previous company can continue to work with them. Those needing permits now, they need to go through Superior Safety Codes.

Application forms along with information on getting the necessary permits are on Lamont County's website.
