A seasonal road ban for commercial vehicles is coming into place next week.
Spring closures will come into effect in Strathcona County at 7 a.m. on Tuesday (Mar.27).
The weight is restricted on the majority of county roads.
"Rural roads that are at 90 per cent weight during summer, fall and winter change to 75 per cent during spring road bans," said county manager of transportation infrastructure Ryan Wilson.
Protecting the condition of the road is a main priority. Costly and time-consuming fixes can come from careless use. Roads with permanent weight restrictions are not affected by seasonal bans.
Strathcona County is hoping to have the spring ban lifted by Jun.1.
