The Town of Redwater will be holding a byelection to fill a recently vacated council seat.
Councillor Dody Kluttig announced her resignation on August 27, citing ongoing personal and business commitments as her reasons for stepping down in her fifth year of service.
"This stuff happens in politics,” said Redwater mayor Mel Smith. “We've had them before. It's unfortunate we lost a very good council member.”
The town has set October 1 as nomination day. The byelection will be held October 29.
“I'm sure that whoever it is that gets elected will care about the community and will do a good job," Smith added.
