Over the past month, there has been an increase in indecent activities taking place in parked vehicles at Elk Island National Park.

The acts have been occurring primarily on weekends and very late at night.

"We've had a couple calls for service regarding people doing some indescrete things in their vehicles," said Fort Saskatchewan RCMP Constable Janice Schoepp. "They do have people patrolling the area there so you never know who's going to come and shine a flashlight into your vehicle."

At least two events were reported to police, they both occurred in the early hours of June 11 and 18.

"People are trying to be discrete I guess, but it's a national park," added Schoepp. "It's a public place, let's just remember that."

RCMP are asking people to refrain from these acts while visiting the park.
