Sturgeon County residents are getting their first look at the packed list for mayor and council.
 
With the controversial advocacy group SUREAL making waves late in the term, a number of people have put their names forward for the county government.
 
For mayor, Tom Flynn is looking for a second term while ex-SUREAL co-founder Alanna Hnatiw is looking to oust Flynn.
 
Council candidates:
Division 1: Ferd Caron (incumbent) and Dan Derouin
Division 2: Susan Evans (incumbent) and Rudy van Woerkom
Division 3: Wayne Bokenfohr (incumbent), Ken McGillis and Matthew McLennan
Division 4: Jerry Kaup (incumbent) and Neil Comeau
Division 5: Patrick D. Tighe (incumbent), Frank Klassen, Jacob Middelkamp, Maxwell Power and Vicki Zinyk
Division 6: Karen Shaw (incumbent), Marty Derouin and Charlaine Pasemko
 
Election Day is October 16 in Sturgeon County with polls opening at 10:00 a.m. and closing at 8:00 p.m.
 
Advance voting is available for those who would like to cast their ballot, but won't be able to on October 16. Those days are October 4 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and October 14 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Both advance voting opportunities will be at Sturgeon County Centre in Morinville.
