Morinville Town Council received information on the cost to cancel their photo radar contract.
With the current contract on until April of 2019, the estimated fee would be $319,200.
"At the previous council meeting there was an information request brought forward asking what the cost would be to cancel the contract now," said councillor Brennan Fitzgerald.
The estimated total of the contract cancellation, plus the potential revenue loss for 19 months would have an impact of around $950,372 (equal to a 10.7 per cent tax increase).
Council unanimously agreed to take these numbers as information and not proceed any further.
