Get out your swimsuits, Harbour Pool is reopening soon.
After being shut down on January 1, the Fort Saskatchewan Pool is set to open its doors on Monday (Jan.22).
"Every year we have an annual shutdown period, which we use to clean the facilty from top to bottom,"said Lindsay Poitras, the aquatics operations supervisor at Harbour Pool. "We work on things like the pumps or the chemical controllers and do painting or tower repairs."
Harbour Pool originally was to be closed until March 4 for construction of a universal change room, but costs went well over budget.
"Currently the project is under review," said Poitras. "We're looking at budget, timelines and design options and we'll bring that forward to council in the spring."
The pool will go into their regular winter schedule on Monday, with swimming lessons starting on January 29.
