New all-day school zones start soon in Strathcona County.

School zone hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on school days.
Police say all-day school zones should reduce driver confusion around times. Signage will be installed on all school zone signs in Strathcona County to indicate the new hours.

Before the change the hours were 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.; 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Strathcona County RCMP and Strathcona County Enforcement Services promise to be out in full force to start the school year.

Both Elks Island public and Catholic schools head back to the books on Sept.4.

In Fort Saskatchewan, the school zone hours are still 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
