The People's Party of Canada (PPC) officially plan to introduce themselves to Sherwood Park and Fort Saskatchewan in December.
A news release on Wednesday (Nov.21) said the inaugural meeting in the area will take place on December 1 in Sherwood Park.
"Some of the things that we desire are lower taxes, smaller government, less bureaucracy, more government accountability, an end to corporate welfare and no pandering of special interests," said PPC volunteer Chris Robertson.
The People's Party of Canada was founded by Maxime Bernier on September 14, 2018. He ran for the Conservative Party of Canada's leadership election in 2017, but was not successful.
"We're Canadians coming together to support Maxime and a government with a new approach that better supports Canadians," added Robertson.
According to the People's Party of Canada's website, their platform "is still being finalized."
