The City of Fort Saskatchewan has made it possible for more industrial development to get the green light.

A public hearing to address the amendments to the land use bylaw took place at the Tuesday (Feb.13) meeting.

TAG Developments applied for land rezoning in the Heartland Industrial Park, in last November.

"Council gave a second and third reading to a zoning bylaw for TAG Developments," said mayor Gale Katchur. "The lands were currently zoned industrial reserve and because of proposed development that is coming forward, they are asking for it to be designated as medium industrial."

Katchur described activity in the light industrial area, as good news for the city.

Development plans are not being released at this time.
