Thanks to the helping hands of ‘Little Minions’ nine people have graduation outfits.

For the third year, Gowns for Grads was put on by Little Minions Events in Fort Saskatchewan. The program gives students a chance to pick from a variety of gowns and suits for the special occasion.

“It went pretty well. We had a great following on Facebook, a lot of people sharing our event this year,” said Little Minions Events committee vice chair Meghan Pollard.

The three day opportunity went from Mar.25-27 at the Kanata Inn.

It started after the fire in Fort McMurray a couple years ago.

“It happened at grad season, so we became a donation spot for a bunch of the gowns. A lot of the gowns on site right now were shipped to us from the east coast,” said Pollard.

Some dresses even have personal notes attached to them.

“As we’ve continued through the years we’ve had people continue donating gowns. This year we’ve had a lot of suits donated for the guys,” she noted.

Last year they handed out 12-14 gowns.
