Morinville residents could once again be in for a tax hike.
With the 2019 budget discussions underway, the town could be looking at a three per cent property tax increase.
"It's a bit of a tough year in terms of budget," said mayor Barry Turner. "We're looking at bringing on a brand new rec facility here in the new year, so you know that's going to have an impact."
The $30.5 million Morinville Community Recreation Facility is expected to be complete in May of 2019.
In 2018, residents were faced with an increase of just below one percent. Budget 2019 includes over $16 million in operational costs.
"Right now we have a bit of an operating budget deficit that we need to deal with and that's going to take priority here moving forward," added Turner.
Budget deliberations will continue on Tuesday (Dec.11).
