Two local classes put their hearts on paper on this week.
Grade 6 and 7 teacher at Morinville Public School, Savanah Bosch, was educating students on the terrorist attacks in Edmonton and the students immediately started searching for ways to help.
Both classes decided to write letters to the Edmonton Police Services and Constable Michael Chernyk, who was injured in the attack.
"It's nothing new for us to talk about the news, but having this event hit so close to home was really relevant for students and something they wanted to talk about and discuss," said Bosch. "I don't think that (the students) really realize how big of an act it was to write those letters."
The student letters have been sent off. Constable Chernyk is in stable condition and recovering after the incident.
