If you’re missing a bicycle, the municipal enforcement services building is a good place to check.
Every week, lost bikes are reported around the city. Municipal enforcement officers will pick up the bicycles and bring them back to the detachment to be stored.
Bikes are stored for a minimum of 45 days, but are usually held for up to five months. After that, the bikes are auctioned off.
"If anybody has lost a bike or it's been stolen, make sure to check with the RCMP or the municipal enforcement services and we can reunite them with their bike," said municipal enforcement supervisor Matt Lowther.
People wishing to reclaim their bicycle must bring proof of their ownership. That can include a receipt or pictures of them and their bike.
Anyone wishing to report a stolen or missing bicycle can contact the detachment at 780-997-7930.
