A detached garage and shed caught fire in the Pineview area last night.

Just before midnight, the Fort Saskatchewan Fire Department responded to a small structure fire.

"The fire was contained to the shed and garage, there was some damage to the neighbouring structures," said Bill Heesing, deputy fire chief in Fort Saskatchewan.

Several firefighters remained until just after 3:15 a.m. to help with the remaining hot spots.

Heesing added the fire was reported by a neighbour and they do appreciated residents timely reporting of these incidents.

No one was injured in the fire, the cause is still under investigation.
