The area could have a new Alberta Party candidate.
On Thursday (Aug.9), Marvin Olsen announced his intention to seek nomination for the Fort Saskatchewan-Vegreville Alberta Party.
“This riding is diverse. It deserves an MLA with real life experience that can truly understand the challenges facing both the rural and urban sectors and is willing to listen to new ideas and approaches.”
Olsen has been the owner of Grim’s Contracting Ltd. for 13 years and has lived in the Fort with his wife Shannon for the past seven years.
“I am approachable and straightforward and I have no interest in political games or drama, I will leave that to other people," added Olsen. "I am simply proud to live, work and raise my family in this riding and I want to be part of shaping the future for my kids and for Alberta.”
One of his main priorities will be the agricultural sector, as he grew up in the rural community of Andrew.
The next provincial election is expected to be called between March 1 and May 31.
