A man wanted by local police has been taken into custody.
On May 11, RCMP responded to a report of an assault in progress near the Barrhead hospital.
The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, but was arrested a short time later at a residence in Barrhead.
34-year-old Curtis Powder of Barrhead is facing three charges, including possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of probation.
Police determined that the suspect was also wanted on a warrant from Fort Saskatchewan RCMP for being unlawfully at large.
Powder appeared in court earlier today (May 16).
