One person has died after a serious two vehicle collision.

On Friday (Nov.2) around 8:40 p.m., the Morinville RCMP responded to a crash on Highway 28, just north of Township Road 570.

An investigation showed that a car traveling southbound lost control and collided with a truck traveling northbound.

The 28-year-old man driving the car was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the truck sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital. Neither vehicle had passengers.

Mounties said the highway was extremely icy at the time of the collision and road conditions were a factor.
