A man was airlifted to hospital after an area fire.
On Sunday (Apr.1) around 1:38 p.m., emergency crews responded to a garage fire at 55104 Lamoureux Drive.
The man was taken by STARS to the U of A Hospital with serious burns to his head.
"Preliminary investigation indicates the gentleman was working on a snowmobile in the garage. Outside of that information we don't have anything else," said Sturgeon County Fire Chief Pat Mahoney.
All said, 21 Sturgeon County fire fighters were involved from Namao, Bon Accord and Gibbons. Police and EMS also responded.
While the garage did burn down, a nearby house only suffered minor damage.
According to Mahoney the fire was under control in about 45 minutes.
