Police caught a 22-year-old Fort Saskatchewan woman going way over the speed limit.
Fort Saskatchewan Municipal Enforcement issued the woman a summons for speeding on Monday (Aug.20) after clocking her going 131 km/h in a 70 km/h zone on Highway 21 at 94 Street.
The woman is scheduled to appear in Fort Saskatchewan Provincial Court on Nov.1.
Local RCMP report that on the same day police issued tickets to a number of other drivers travelling more than 130km/h in a 100km/h zone.
“Fort Saskatchewan RCMP are reminding drivers to slow down and abide by the posted speed limits,” police said in a release. With the new school year soon to start, drivers can expect to see both RCMP and municipal enforcement out in the community enforcing the Traffic Safety Act.
On the same day another driver was pegged going 97 km/h over the speed limit.
