A local secondhand store is helping a Fort Saskatchewan teenager cover the high costs of post-secondary education.

Twice but Nice recently awarded a $5000 scholarship to 18-year-old David Cebryk, a Boys and Girls Club volunteer and 2018 St. John Paul II Catholic School grad.

Cebryk, who grew up in Fort Saskatchewan, plans to use the money as he heads off to MacEwan University’s physical education transfer program.

“It's two years at MacEwan and then it transfers me over to U of A for two years,” Cebryk said. “You can experience both of them. And it will set me up for my bachelor's degree in kinesiology.”

The teenager's future plans include possibly becoming a physiotherapist.

Cebryk had been searching for ways to pay his university tuition when he got the good news that he’d won the the award from Twice but Nice.

“It's the only scholarship that I've received this far. So I was very happy.”
