A late-night traffic stop led to a drug and weapons bust.
Mounties say a vehicle was in an area frequented by people involved in illegal drug use and property crime. When the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP pulled the vehicle over on Friday night (Sept.14), they found a loaded semi-automatic handgun, crack cocaine, methamphetamine and various other items.
Jason Ibsen, 39, of Lamont is facing 10 firearms related charges. Ibsen was also recently released from an Alberta Federal Institution and his parole has been revoked.
Phillip Garand, 29, of Chipman is facing seven firearms related charges, four breach of condition related charges and two drug related charges.
Ibsen and Garand are in custody and will appear in court at a later date.
