Some local kids are backing a good cause.

Over 250 groups were set up across Alberta for Lemonade Stand Day. The event sends all proceeds to the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton.

There were two participating locations in the Fort, including one on Ridgeland Way.

"It's our first time being involved so we were really excited to participate," said Rosemary Malowany. "I learned about it on social media and through friends, so I decided to get us involved this year."

Rosemary's two daughters Isabel and Katya were both at the stand helping serve the drinks.

"It's gone better than planned, we've done really well here and the people of Fort Saskatchewan have really supported us," added Rosemary.

This is the fourth year for the fundraiser. Over $75,000 has been raised in total.

The Malowany family ran their stand for three hours and brought in $321.
