Lamont County has a new person in charge.

At the annual county Organizational Meeting on October 23, councillors elected David Diduck as reeve.

He was elected to his first term on council for Division 3 in 2017.

"I'm pretty happy about [being elected]. I would like to thank the former reeve Woldanski for his 14 years of services."

Diduck has been a resident of Lamont County for 55 years. His background is in finance and accounting, but he enjoys farming as well.

"I just look forward to putting that skill set in place to making Lamont County a better place in the future."

Division 4 councillor Roy Anaka was elected as Lamont County's deputy reeve.
