A Bruderheim mother is looking to connect residents with council.

Jana Semeniuk is one of the now two candidates running in the Bruderheim byelection.
"I decided to run because I do a lot of volunteer work in town and I thought this would be a really great way to serve the community," said Semeniuk.
The mom of twins used to work for Edmonton Public Schools, before moving to Bruderheim three years ago.
"I think I could really help council out with the connection between residents and the council members," added Semeniuk. "It seems to me there's a little bit of a disconnect between information being presented at council and what is getting out to the public so I hope to bridge that gap a little bit."
Byelection advanced voting will be held at the Bruderheim administration building on July 5 from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The official election at the Bruderheim Community Hall is on July 9 from 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.
