Local ladies were recognized on Thursday night (Mar.8).
This year's Fort Saskatchewan International Women’s Day Awards Gala saw nearly 50 nominees compete for seven awards.
"It was so fantastic, I couldn't have asked for a better night," said gala chair, Rebecca Trotter. "It was so special because when you stop, pause and you have a chance to reflect on the amazing people that we actually have in our community you're overwhelmed with pride."
Some of the guest speakers throughout the evening included MP for Sherwood Park-Fort Saskatchewan Garnett Genuis, Fort Saskatchewan-Vegreville MLA Jessica Littlewood, Lesley MacMillan, Bailey Dunbar and Heather Boonstra.
Fort Saskatchewan councillor Jibs Abitoye took home the award for Arts and Culture.
"I'm just really happy and excited because tonight was a great night," said Abitoye.
