The City of Fort Saskatchewan is finishing up maintenance on four buildings.
This summer, roof replacements were scheduled for the CN Station and the James E Graham Building. Parts of the roof were also replaced at the Legion and Harbour Pool.
"We replace the roofs basically to protect the building to make sure we can get the full life span of the building," said Grant Schaffer, director of Program Management for the city.
The total cost for the project was around $350,000.
"Typically a roof will last about 25 years on a building, we start doing more detailed evaluations at the 20 year mark," Schaffer added.
The James E. Graham Building is the last structure to receive the upgrade; construction should be complete towards the end of this month.
