Black Friday is right around the corner.
With thousands of retail stores having deals, experts have some tips for the common shopper.
"Start your research early, know what you're looking for and do a lot of research. Use the internet, look at your flyers, be educated about that and be prepared," said Dan L'heureux, director at Cambridge Electronics.
One of the common misconceptions is that online retailers have great deals on Black Friday, some will actually hike their prices.
Those looking to make a long trip in for shopping should be following their favourite stores on social media for last-minute postings.
"Always make sure that they have the item in stock prior to running all the way out there and fighting the crowds before finding out it's not there," added L'heureux.
Other tips from Consumer Reports include avoiding pricey accessories, stick to your budget and check store policies in advance.
