Schools in Fort Saskatchewan have lifted a Hold and Secure situation.
 
The precaution was in place at around 11:00 a.m. for Fort Saskatchewan High, Fort Elementary, Ecole-Parc, Fort Christian, St. John XXIII School, Our Lady of the Angels School, St. John Paul II Catholic School and Fort Saskatchewan Next Step schools.
 
Doors were locked and no one was permitted to enter or leave the school.
 
Some daycares and businesses also were advised to lock their doors as a precaution.
 
Safety measures were taken by the schools due to an armed robbery at the downtown 7-Eleven. The Fort Saskatchewan RCMP have released surveillance footage of the suspect.
 
The Hold and Secure was lifted at around 11:45 a.m.
