The left lane of Highway 15 towards Edmonton has reopened.
A large depression in the pavement was discovered on the highway near the pedestrian bridge.
"The repair is complete and the road is stable," said Bradley McDonald, Fort Saskatchewan's manager of infastructure strategies.
An small asphalt repair will be required to complete the repair and should take place on September 26, weather depending. The work will require a partial lane closure for a part of the day, but disruption is expected to be minimal.
Lane closure delays lasted for about 24 hours.
