A helicopter crashed in Strathcona County on Saturday evening (Aug.25).
Just after 5 p.m., a bystander called Strathcona County Emergency Services after he saw a helicopter smash into a field by Highway 21 and Township Road 534.
"It was a small two-seater, so I suspect it was a private recreational helicopter," said Tim Moen, Strathcona County Emergency Services’ deputy chief.
The man flying the helicopter walked away with minor injuries.
No cause has been determined yet. Moen said the incident could have been far more serious in regards to injuries or a potential fire.
Transport Canada is investigating the crash.
